Why should I have a home warranty on my home?

I do not currently have home warranty coverage on my home but I do have a current problem with one of my systems or appliances. Will this problem be covered if I purchase a new home warranty plan today?

Unfortunately, we do not cover pre-existing conditions. However, if a covered item were to fail while under the protection of an active home warranty contract, it would be covered subject to the conditions, terms and limitations of your contract.
Who will you send to my home if a system or appliance fails and how do I know they are good at what they do?

First American has over 7,200 independent service providers that are all insured and have been pre-qualified by our company. Even though they have many years of professional trade experience, First American constantly monitors and evaluates the quality of work performed. If a covered item fails and cannot be repaired, will it be replaced?

Yes. If a system or appliance is beyond repair, then we will replace it with a brand new unit with like functionality. Each year, we spend millions of dollars in replacing systems and appliances.
How do I place a service call when a covered item fails?

It is very easy. Just pick up the phone and call (800) 992-3400, 24 hours a day, 365 day a year for a friendly, courteous customer service representative who will take your service request by phone and dispatch a service work order to an independent service technician in your area.
How soon will a contractor schedule an appointment for my system or appliance failure?

In most cases, the independent service provider will contact you within 24 hours during normal business hours to schedule a mutually convenient appointment.
Will I have to pay any type of deductible when I place a service call?

Yes. When you place a service call you pay the service technician a Service Trade Call Fee which typically ranges from $45 to $75 per visit depending on your particular contract.
Is a home warranty plan renewable?
