Do First American Home Warranty member benefits cost extra?
Most member benefits are included with your First American home warranty at no additional charge. You can purchase the HVAC tune-up add-on when you buy or renew your home warranty.
Can I use my member benefits more than once?
Yes, benefits like discounted services, appliance and product savings, and our refer-a-friend offer can be used at any time during your contract term.
Rekey service for home buyers is a one-time service. HVAC tune-up coverage includes one spring and one fall tune-up. Sign in to your online account to see additional details about your coverage and member benefits.
How long will my member benefits last?
You can use your member benefits as long as your First American home warranty is active. Some benefits like HVAC tune-up coverage are time-sensitive, however, so sign in to your online account to learn about your home warranty coverage benefits and when to use them.
What home projects does Helpful Heroes help with?
Helpful Heroes are local off-duty firefighters and EMTs. They can help with general handyman projects, including light fixture installation, smoke detector replacement, gutter cleaning, and more.
What is rekey service?
Homebuyers can request rekey service any time after their home warranty coverage begins, which is usually the day their home closes. A prescreened technician will rekey up to six locks, giving you peace of mind that your home is secure from day one.
How much does it cost to rekey a lock?
With a First American Home Warranty, all you’ll pay for rekey service is your home warranty service fee. Rekey service covers up to six keyholes and provides four copies of your new keys. If you need additional locks rekeyed or extra copies, those can be arranged directly with the locksmith at your own expense.
What does an HVAC tune-up include?
Each tune-up includes system inspections and basic adjustments to help your HVAC run efficiently. Technicians check items like thermostats, capacitors, refrigerant levels, burners (heating), coil rinse (AC), and more. Not included: Filter replacement, indoor coil cleaning, condensate line clearing, or specialty systems like geothermal and ductless mini-splits.
Does the HVAC tune-up include repairs?
No. The HVAC tune-up covers maintenance only. If the technician finds that covered repairs or replacements are needed, the technician will often be able to repair or replace the item the same day. However, you’ll pay a separate service fee. If additional parts or equipment are needed, we will get them as quickly as possible.
What types of Porch services are discounted?
Porch discounted services include dryer vent cleaning, gutter cleaning, power washing, TV mounting, and more.
How do I schedule a Porch service?
Sign in to your online account and choose Member Benefits. Under Porch, click Schedule Now. This will take you to the Porch website, where you can see available services and schedule directly through Porch.
